Sometimes you just have to

I think I've held my tongue for so long that I've forgotten how to speak up. I know that I am constantly baffled by the things I see around me. Then I look around in astonishment and realize that NOBODY else is experiencing the world in the same way I am. So I just shake my head and move on. I think doing that has made me sick, literally and figuratively.

This frustration comes from many sources. Dealing with stupid people that are more worried about how much they can afford to drink tonight than the out of control inflation, rising cost of living and power grabs made by the government on a daily basis.  The stupid person in front of me in line complaining about  her diabetes as the cashier scans 4 packages of brownies, half a dozen 2-liter bottles of Fanta, ice cream, some chips and a tub of generic dip.

It comes from seeing people so easily swayed in their opinions that a stupid Facebook eCard about blind patriotism gets more likes than somebody talking about news or important current events. And at the end of the day it comes from the realization that there are more of THEM then there are of US.

So sometimes you have to just say it. Whatever it is that's on your mind, you just have to say it. If you're mad, say so. If you're pissed about how hard it is to deal with stupid people, speak up. If you are baffled by the stupid antics of those around you and how fake everybody, making nice for fear of causing an uproar, well you have to say that too.

I invite you to give it a try. A lot of amazing things could happen and a lot of bad things could happen, but at least at the end of the day you'll know you've had your say.
